Castilleja provides a rich benefit program to employees who work 50% or more. These include: medical, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance plans. Break, sick days and Personal Time are provided to all employees. Non-Faculty have generous vacation time afforded to them. A rich retirement plan helps to provide for future financial security. All employees are provided with professional development opportunities. The school provides a healthy, free lunch every school day to all employees. Employees are welcome to use the pool, fitness center, and library.

At Castilleja, Global engagement is embedded in the curriculum. Beginning with the 6th grade, projects and interactive learning allow students to explore different cultures and understand the many challenges faced throughout the world.   The school hosts a Global Week which provides all students and faculty the time and resources to deeply examine globally relevant topics, listen to world renowned speakers and participate in workshops.  Through a generous endowment, each Junior student is provided with the opportunity to travel outside of the United States.  Faculty are encouraged to participate in these global explorations and have the opportunity to accompany the students throughout the world. Whether it is to explore sustainability in China, impoverishment in the Dominican Republic, the legacy of colonialism in Senegal or the role of women in India, each trip allows for extensive learning about the complexity of a global world.

Faculty who are new to Castilleja participate in a robust year-long orientation program to take them through every step of the year.

At Castilleja, we believe that learning never stops. Our faculty members are encouraged, and actively seek, lifelong learning and exploration opportunities with Castilleja’s full support.  Castilleja teachers work to chart their own professional growth path and are given a robust feedback and development plan to help them achieve their goals. The faculty is provided with four professional development days per school year to take advantage of speakers, in house workshops and other learning opportunities.  Additionally, the school encourages education through summer curriculum grants, and special funds to augment classroom learning with experiential learning. Faculty with more than seven years of employment are eligible for a semester long sabbatical for travel or immersion into a subject of interest.
